Ruth Asawa and high school students from School of the Arts, Hannya, 1989. Silastic and acrylic paint (5' x 8'). This is a traditional mask used in Japanese Noh theater. This is a female ghost demon with horns. It represents hatred, greed, and jealousy. This mask is pictured as it was displayed at the de Young Museum as part of the Youth Arts Festival.
